Misconceptions and facts about Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy:
Myth 1: Hypnosis makes you lose control
NO. You won’t reveal any information that you wished to remain secret. You don’t lose control over your behaviour. Hypnosis makes it easier to experience suggestions but doesn’t force you to have certain experiences. Its a process of working WITH, not working ON you.
Myth 2: You are completely asleep during Hypnosis
NO. In a hypnotic state/trance the client is focused and has an increased state of attention. the client hears every word the therapist is saying, notices the sounds around him/her and is able to talk and answer questions.
Myth 3: You won’t remember anything after Hypnosis
NOT true. You are actively involved within the session, mainly through your unconscious mind. You will remember everything, feel refreshed and empowered after the session and are able to take the actions you need to do to to reach your goals, change habits move forward to the life you desire.
How does it feel? What do I experience?
People describe hypnosis in different ways. You may feel like you’re “zoned in” or in a trance-like state — so focused that you’re able to block out surrounding distractions. Have you ever been so focused on a TV show or so entrenched in a good book that you don’t hear your family talking around you or even your dog barking? This experience is somewhat similar to how you might feel while hypnotized.
Many people say they feel calm and relaxed, despite their increased concentration. Most describe it as a pleasant
experience.
How does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a heightened state of concentration and focused attention. Guided by a trained, certified hypnotist or hypnotherapist, hypnosis allows you to be more open to suggestions to making healthful changes in your perceptions, sensations, emotions, memories, thoughts or behaviours.
When you are in a hypnotic state ( same as trance), this intense level of concentration and focus allows you to ignore ordinary distractions, bypass the critical factor ( I can't change, I can't be confident, etc) and be more open to guided suggestions to make changes to improve your health and wellbeing.
Hypnotherapy is working on the root cause of the unwanted emotion, behaviour or thinking pattern and therefore creates long lasting positive change
Once the issue is cleared, the client is enabled to take the actions needed to create the desired change, without feeling any mental restrictions anymore.
What is the typical length of treatment?
There’s no typical length. Treatment varies depending on what and how severe the issue is. Hypnotherapy may take a few sessions. Just like every client focused treatment form, it is very individual. It is personalised and not a "one size fits all" approach. A session takes about 45-75minutes, but may vary, depending on individual clinet.
What type of hypnotherapy do I offer?
I had the privilege to be trained by expert Paul Eliseo from Evolve & Relaunch (https://evolveandrelaunch.com.au/hypnotherapy-certification/), who has more than 20 years experience in Hypnosis and is teaching the most up to date techniques in Hypnosis. He teaches he best parts of many styles. I’ll use whatever form of hypnosis you respond best to as I am not limited by one style.
I offer Hypnotherapy online via zoom.
What are the benefits of online Hypnotherapy?
My clients appreciate online sessions for the following reasons:
Is Hypnotherapy the right form of treatment for you?
Please note: Hypnotherapy is no substitute for counselling or Psychiatric support. It is a complementary form of treatment. Hypnosis may not be appropriate for people with epilepsy, severe mental health issues, such as psychotic symptoms, including hallucinations and delusions, bipolar disorder or severe forms of trauma and PTSD. Please contact your GP and ask for a referral that Hypnotherapy is safe for you to do.
If you are someone who’s highly motivated to overcome an issue, change a behaviour or overcome unhelpful thinking patterns, you will most likely benefit from Hypnotherapy. Especially if you have tried already a lot of options consciously, but it did not help or did not enable you to overcome the issues you want to resolve. We do sessions online via zoom to be able to provide Hypnotherapy worldwide.
How much do I need to invest?
An individual online session is NZ$ 160 (including a personalized self hypnosis audio for you) and takes 45-90min depending on the issue.
Weather you need another session or not is very individual and varies from client to client. Most issues can be resolved within 1-3 sessions.
You will receive a follow up email or message from me after a couple of days, after 1 months and 3 months to check in with you how you are doing and if you need any additional support.
What is the success rate of Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy has a 95% success rate, but just like every other coaching, treatment or training, it depends on how committed you are to make the changes and do the inner work.
I ( Britta) am not giving any guarantees for results and I am not liable in case the client does not achieve the desired result.
I can give you the guarantee that I am always 100% committed to you and I fully believe in your ability to change and transform to achieve what you desire.
I am here to support you to resolve the obstacles & restrictions that are holding you back unconsciously, but you then need to do the inner work to move forward and reach your desired outcome. I will provide you with guidance, inspiration and a recorded self hypnosis audio tailored to your needs to help you integrate your new way of thinking and feeling.
It is like going to the gym, having a physiotherapy session or starting a weight loss programme: The trainer/coach/therapist can show you how to do it and provide the equipment, support or recommendations but you are the one who needs to do the work to reach your goals or make the changes you need to feel better, move better and live a better quality life.

- In a state of trance/hypnosis you are fully relaxed and open for positive suggestions to create the change you desire
- Your conscious mind is quieted ( no inner critic)
- You’re able to tap into the part of your brain ( unconscious mind) where your thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, sensations, emotions, memory and behaviours originate.
- In this state, you’re more open to gentle guidance from your hypnotherapist to help you modify or replace the unconscious thoughts that are driving your current behaviour or thinking pattern that you would like to change
