​How Mind-Body Therapy Can Reduce Pain, Stress and Anxiety

Chronic stress & pain- a vicious cycle
Many people experiencing chronic pain, stress or anxiety do not realise how closely connected the body and mind truly are. Physical tension, emotional stress and subconscious beliefs often reinforce each other, creating patterns that can be difficult to break.
Mind-body therapies aim to address these patterns at their source.

Understanding Chronic Muscle Tension
When the body experiences stress, injury or emotional strain, the nervous system can create protective muscle contractions. Over time these contractions become habitual and may lead to pain, stiffness and reduced mobility.
Clinical Somatic Education works by teaching the brain to release these patterns through slow, controlled movements. This improves posture, reduces pain and restores natural movement.

Long-term stress keeps the nervous system in a constant “fight-or-flight” mode. This can affect sleep, digestion, mood and concentration.
Stress management techniques such as breathwork, relaxation exercises and body awareness practices help regulate the nervous system and restore balance.
How Hypnotherapy Supports Change
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind where our beliefs, habits. experiences and emotional responses are stored. By accessing this deeper level of the mind, it becomes possible to replace limiting beliefs & habits with more supportive ones. Often in just a few sessions. Britta Bruns is an experienced therapist and coach with more than 25 years of experience helping people improve their health and wellbeing. With a background as an occupational therapist, she combines professional training with holistic methods such as somatic movement, hypnotherapy and mind-body coaching.
Britta’s work is guided by a passion for helping women age 40+& riders overcome pain, stress and limiting beliefs so they can live active, confident and fulfilling lives. Her approach is compassionate, practical and tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances.
Sessions are available both online and in person in Invercargill, New Zealand, making it easy for clients to access support wherever they are.
